My dearest Queen and Fellow Catholic Monarch,

It has come to my attention that you are going to provide, for your husband and your country, a little infanta/e and I could not be more happy. I would ask my Ambassador to give you a warm and loving embrace in my stead, if I could actually verify that he had bathed in the last 6 months!

I do not quite know how to broach the subject, but am much more secure now that I know we cannot be overheard. It flies in the very face of God's laws for bastards to rule in the place that their legitimate and lawful brethren should. The fact that your husband does not know this, or if so knowlegable, does not heed it, stuns me as much as it hurts you. And as someone who finds myself often in the same painful circumstances I sympathise very much with you.

I wish to help this child, and to raise it as high as I may. I would be most humbled if you would allow my affianced and I as the child's god-parents. It is not only poetic, but right and fitting that a Queen pushed aside by her bastard relatives should help a child in the same position. And with you and your husband's leave, we shall be happy to accept this blessing.

Post Scriptum: I'm truly sorry, but that was the only man in Scotland who spoke both French and Spanish. He is very well educated, intelligent, and devoted. But he has the thickest most terrible accent I've ever heard, and I apologize for that.

*Isabella chuckles slightly after reading Charles's letter before quickly replying*

I wanted a handsome, gracious husband and that I already have, my love.

*Isabella puts down the note and reads Marie's letter, stunned, Isabella writes her reply*

Greetings, I am thrilled to say I have given birth to a healthy and goode baby boy.

I cannot put into words how happy I am you support my cause and therefore will speak highly of you from now and forevermore.

God parents are always a very important matter as any mother wouldst know and especially that of Royal birth. Me and my husband, the Emperor, thinkest it would be right and goode for you to be Fernando's godmother but alas we hoped to grant the child three godmothers. Both the English and French Queens and yourself. What sayest thou on that?

I must say we hath not quite decided on the matter of the godfather but if you were to have your fiancé married and crowned then it wouldst be a much grander matter. In the mean time bestowing some titles on him wouldst indeed aid our decision.

*Isabella, slightly confused sends a maid to go and find out what is going on*

*a guard very politely prevents the woman from getting close to the area.*

*Isabella is bewildered when her maid returns with no news and tells her to return with my order*

*the guard again turns the woman away, saying he has strick orders from the Emperor to prevent anyone not authorized by the Emperor from entering.*

*The Scottish Ambassador goes to see what all the noise is, carrying a purse of coins with which to bribe the guard*.

*the guard takes the bag, weighs it in his hand, then hands it back.*
Not near enough, mate- the Emperor himself ordered none be allowed entry.

*The Ambassador smiles and adds a few more pounds to the bag*.
