WE, CHARLES
Holy Roman Empire, King of Spain, Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, etc., wish to announce that We have agreed to a peace with England and its Queen, Elizabeth, which shall be to the benefit of Our realms as well as hers. In order to cement this alliance, We are pleased to announce that Her Grace has accepted and entered into marriage with Don Juan de Austria of Our noble House and Grandee of Spain. We have given this marriage our blessing and are minded to appoint said Don Juan a Count of our Empire and futhermore appoint him Regent of Our Low Countries, in order that his good service may further increase trade ties between those lands and those of his wife.
