I fear for the safety of us all

I apologise for my absence of late and am most pleased to be in your kind companies once more. However, I bring with me grave news indeed.

These past few days I have been kept under supervision by Tyrwhitt and that spiteful wife of his while my dear Kat Ashley and Thomas Parry have been sent to the Tower for questioning. Alas I have been informed by the gloating Tyrwhitt that the Lord High Admiral is also kept in that most unhappy place. I have great concern for the well being of my dear Kat and Parry, and fear that none of us may see Thomas Seymour again.

His brother the Lord Protector wudst destroy us to gain power over our realm and I reaslise now that none of us are safe. He hath condemned his own brother and is a friend to neither religion, meaning that all of us here with a claim to the throne of England or an inclination to stand in his way are in grave danger.

We must now stand together, keep our heads (in every way) and take care to neither condemn ourselves or others by foolish words.

I thank you for the offer of place to flee dear cousin, but surely you realise that I cannot abandon my realm?

To leave would be to surrendor England to him and the only way to regain it would be through great battles at the cost of many lives.

I wudst try to hold my place and mine head with nothing but my wits, and pray for the safety of the Kingdom.

I wud but ask that you keep yourself safe in case Mary and I do not survive these times, and that you too pray for our people. Though we have our petty differences in the name of religion we hath but the same God and in the end the responsibility of the lives of the people of England.

Pray for the safe deliverance of us all dear cousin, pray for us all.

If I may assist thee ... the siginitures are a bit fussy. After assureing that the Allow BBC codes and the Show signiture buttons were check in thine profile it was still the next day before mine magically appeared.
