She has not disappeared. I questioned her myself at length. Her child knows the truth. She herself is not fit to rule and neither is Sir Nicholas, I suggest we stage a coup, they are both soft and could be easily taken down.

The Emperor has offered a large reward for the capture of Marie's attacker, which we both know is Sir Richard. Frankly I do not believe that Marie and Sir Nicholas will ever marry, they have prevaricated so long anyway

My daughter also wishes to bring Marie's attacker to justice.

*A courier arrives with a packet of letters from the former Earl of Maitland, the letters are marked with the word URGENT.*

*gently takes the correspondance from her hand*

Sir Francis I think you should know that Sir Richard doth not act alone. And I would like to know what is in those Scots missives. I can only truly be of service to you if I am myself well-informed.

I hath written to thine Queen in the hopes that a devout Protestant and sound mind would take heed of the warnings I laid before it, but my trust was misplaced and she ordered this Jezebel to be-head me. Fortunately for the cause of our faith and the future of both our Godly realms I escaped from her henchmen, promising them gold which I shall need sorely in the time to come. I have good information that the Scots Queen is planning her greatest coup. Something which will, in a single blow, devastate all we hath worked so long and hard for. I have it on good information that she is planning the reinstatement of the Roman Religion.

She and her councillors hath let it be known that they consider our most Godly and just revolution false because it did not receive the blessing of this foreign bitch. They rely on a mere technicality to overthrow everything that we have all bled, sweated and cried for. And her crowning glory is that there is no obstacle to this. The people adore her false French ways and the beauty and grace which hide the evil that festers in her heart. All the nobles that could have stopped her, she hath be-headed upon her restoration. The Pope himself says he shall come to Scotland and give her his blessing. She claims she will uphold her current policy of tolerance, but we all know it is merely a matter of time before there are burnings.

If your Queen shall not help us, if the Lutherans of Germany will not help us, if the people shall allow this and if the Nobles cannot stop this, than you are our only hope.

*turning to the messenger now to convey verbal message as he doth rarely put pen to paper in such circumstances*

Sir Francis the Scottish slut queen all but throws herself at Sir Richard!

Sir Francis apparently you do not work on the weekends but I am now trapped in a closet in Sir Richards chambers and I believe that I have been drugged! HALP!

I am sorry that I could not reply sooner, I am busier than ever! I have discovered that I am a ghost. And an exceptional ghost at that. Whereas most ghosts are associated with only one location, I plainly haunt most of England. The traveling schedule is mot daunting.

I watched a movie with you in it last night. "Elizabeth the Golden Age". My daughter as usual was quite beautiful and regal. Phillip of Spain was delusional. The Queen of Scots was manipulative and delusional. The man who played you was not handsome enough. And once again I got to admire your espionage skills.

I love French cuisine first and foremost, but it doesn't have to be fancy. A nice boeuf bourgignon or cassoulet makes me very happy. With some fine French wine of course. I hope our schedules will be in sync soon.
