A letter to Charles, Holy Roman Emperor

My one true love and husband,
I, Ysabel, Holy Roman Empress am in the higest joy to announce that I will begin my lying in shortly and therefore request permission to return home, for the sake of both mine and our child's health. I earnestly hope that you wouldst allow me to stay in the court of your legitimate, true, loyal and everloving son Fillipe, the Kinge.
You must forgive me from my abscence from their Majesty's Elizabeth and Marie's courts.

Alas, I am just a woman and am naive to the ways of this world.

Granted, of course. The bearer of this letter will assist you in any way and I have made arrangements for litters to aid in your travel to our royal son Felipe's court. I beg you send me prompt news of the arrival of the little lord or lady and hereby grant permission additionally for you to name the child as you see fit, bearing in mind of course the traditional names of our family, should I not arrive in Spain before the child does so. I shall set out post haste upon finishing my business here in these Isles, hopefully within the week.
