Life at court ist good but matters of state are - as usual - full vexing.

We are presently graced at the English court with the presance of the Scots Queen and her betrothed, as well as mine suitor Juan of Austria, his father Charles V and his good wife the Empress.

It would please me to have you join our festivities my lord.

Erm, no, I fear you've confused me with someone else. Some sort of French person.

I'm the one who was raised by court officials and was acknowledge as the brother of the king when I was twelve, had my first command at 18, and was the victor over the Turks at Lepanto at 24. I died at 31 of typhus, on campaign in the low countries.

Marguerite of Valois and I had a fling, but most of my other mistresses were Italian. Margaret is the name of my (much older) half sister, my father's illegitimate daughter from before he married.
