Reconcilliation (Part II)

*Marie wakes Nicholas up with a slap to the face, and a bottle of Scotch over the head*.

*Nicholas wakes with a start, his head foggy with sleep, at first not realizing where he is. He knows only that he is being attacked. He leaps up and pushes Marie down and has her pinned in the amount of time it takes for one breath. His vampire strength knocking the wind out of her. *

*he moves off of her and then and helps her up*

*Marie holds a letter in her hand, her face is streaming with tears of rage and betrayal. When Nicholas reaches to help her up, Marie slaps his hand away*.

Is this true? Did you truly tell Elizabeth about what Richard did to me, and were you stupid enough to address him by name?

*Nicholas frowns deeply as the realization dawns on him of what he has done. It was done from no malice, no betrayal. It was done from guilt, misery, and helplessness. It was done from his deep need to protect Marie, the woman he loved, at all costs. So he had turned to his only true friend, the person he felt he could trust that could help.

But even though his motives and intentions were honorable and carried out in love, as he stands before Marie now he knows he has made a grave mistake. A mistake that could very likely cost him everything. *

*Marie's face begins streaming tears of rage, betrayal and sadness, but her voice is quiet and near a whisper*.

*Marie clenches her teeth so that every bone in her jaw is visible and protruding*.

This is a word for word transcript of you speaking with Elizabeth and HER SPY-MASTER! In order to protect me, you went to the Queen of England, my jailer and told her that I had been raped by an Englishmen who was in contact with Walsingham who WAS IN THE ROOM WITH YOU THE WHOLE TIME! You are the biggest idiot I have ever met. You are so stupid it is breath-taking. I thought I was marrying a man who would help me achieve my goals, but instead I have married Elizabeth's spy.

*Marie pulls the locket Nicholas gave her of off her neck. She opens it, looks at the pictures inside of it and throws it in the fire*.

Marie ... *Nicholas watches the locket as it is consumed by flame, he feels as though his heart has been ripped from his chest. *

*his voice is barely a whisper* I WAS trying to protect you ...


if that is a transcript of the whole conversation then you know I was defending you to that treacherous "Spy-Master" ... *his voice gets stronger* he is the one that brought Richard here! Richard is the spy, not I. But the great Spymaster did not count on Richard having an agenda of his own.

*Anger is riseing in his voice now*

Do you also have a transcript of the meeting I had with Richard right before I went to Elizabeth? Where he bragged to me what he did to you ... when he told me we would never be wed, that he would take you for himself?

Did YOUR spys also tell you that when Richard marrys you and gets you with child, if you are not already carring his child, that he will put an end to James so his own son will be an hier? Do you have THAT written down Marie?
