| I should also mention I do Renaissance costuming as a hobby. Hence, the gable hood. | |

| oooohhhhh, I am most envious 'Christina'. I long to attend one of those famed Renaisance fairs I hear are held in America... but as of yet have still to produce the Tudor ruff I keep saying I will try to make.
Til then I shall occasionally flounce around in my Hardy Amies ballgown that resembles a Tudor gown and delight in my Vivienne Westwood corset.
I was going to be Anne Boleyn for last Halloween but I was hosting children's party games for the evening in an old mill in the middle of the woods and decided I didn't want to mess my nice ballgown up.

| Hee! That would be a great costume, with excellent makeup potential! It's really not hard. If they did it by candlelight and hand, I can do it by machine! | |

| *gasp*
"Sir Nicholas" thou wudst have to attend with me of course... and let me perform some elaborate dressing of thine hair.
I wudst need a gown and underpinnings enough to fill at least one whole suitcase and wudst squee and jumpeth up and down like a small child!
*goes to dig out those instructions on Elizabethan ruffs*

*goes to dig out those instructions on Elizabethan ruffs* Of course, I shud love to attend again as I only went once and was charged with the care of many young children at the time (oh the horror!). And you can certainly do what ever you wish with my hair *laughs* they have period costumes there but I shud think it would be far more fun to make them ... I do know your great attention to detail and I wuld think you would not be happy otherwise.

| My attention to detail would much rather have me buy something offthis seller on ebay whose costumes I basically drool at everytime new creations appear. If I ever win the lottery I would commission them to make the red Princess Elizabeth dress (right hand side on my banner) or plead with the great Westwood to make me one of these: She also makes rather stunning ruffs but I can't find a picture of any of them so this will have to do: ...and I have yet to get hold of a proper version of this shirt (thus far I have only a 'bootleg' which isn't half as decadent): Her corsets are based on the effigy corset of Elizabeth I you know, and I believe Elizabeth is also the reason for her violently red hair. Oh Dame Vivienne, how do I love thee, let me count the ways! *sigh* If I were a man I'd have to marry her... but then I wouldn't look quite so fetching in her corsets. | |

| Ah Westwood *drools* I can think of none more deserving of her work than you. Maybe one day you will get that dress made. | |

| ...have just fallen across the winter 09 Westwood collection and there's a Tudor rose epedemic going on. Shirts and delicious short capes emblazened boldly with it. I think I may have to marry her anway! LOL! | |

| For the less Eizbaeth obsessed... the Westwood dress is based on the huge portrait of Elizabeth that hangs proudly at the head of the long gallery at Hardwick Hall: (I am now saving up furiously for a Westwood Tudor Rose cloak.. for I fear if I don't own one I may die) | |

| I saw those cloaks, the capes look very nice but the cloaks are hideous. | |

| Well, I bought the gable hood, as it falls into the same category as ruffs- things I cannot be bothered to make. | |

| There will be pictures, after I am done with work I shall take some. It is certainly not a lightweight hat, that is for sure! And I find it quite flattering- it's kind of like having a pixie cut. You have to have confidence to rock it. | |

| I'm freakin' adorable. They did have specs, but not cute ones. When I go all out, I squint and leave them at home. | |
