| Let them stare *laughs*
They are thinking My Lady that you are fairest in all of England I am sure, and they are right. And I think most are glares of evny *flashes her a charming smile*
As for my skills as a dancer I have no answer. I must admit I have not danced in a very long time but for you I shall try and perhaps when we are done you will not judge me too harshly.

| My God, you pagan witch. I hath recently read a book about thou, and thou art devious, ambitious, devious and cruel. To hell with thee Grandmere. And I am still the most beautiful woman in the world.

Jealously is most unbecomeing on a lady,Marie. You are indeed beautiful, however your foul tonge tarnishes it with insult.
*continues his dance with Elizabeth*

| *laughs* I bet you do *he muses to himself*
It is not my intention to insult, as I told you before. I merely speak openly and honestly, particularly when I feel I must defend one's honor.
As for a dance, perhaps, if you behave *flashes her a mischevious grin*
When my present company tires of me of course *turns back to lock his pierceing green eyes on Elizabeth * which I hope is none too soon.

| Why dost thou never defend my honor Nicholas? And of course I shall behave. After a few glasses of wine I promiseth nothing ... | |

| You flatter like a bard. You would say the same thing to a man if he walked in front of your eyes! You are probably lying, and messaging Elizabeth 9both of them) about how hideous I am. *Swallows a glass of champagne in one gulp*. | |

| Hideous? I hold no such opinion of you, nor would I whisper it to others in such a malicious manner if I did.
*frowns sadly* What ever happened to My Lady that you should be so bitter and untrusting?

| Elizabeth happened. She and Cecil lied to me, imprisoned me for a crime even THEY don't believe I commited and raised my son so that he hated me. And whenever I try to mention that, you defend Elizabeth instead of me *pouts in an oddly attractive way*, that's why. *downs another glass of champagne*. | |

| I see *purses his lips in a thoughtful expression*
I, only having returned to the beautiful shores of my homeland, am not aware of much that has traspired in my absense. Nor is the business of the Royals any of mine.
The advice I would give thee is only this ... the past is dead, the future is imaginary, tis the present day that matters. If you harbor ill will and bitterness in your heart then only ill will and bitterness shall come to you. You shall never find the happiness you seek. And truly, what a pity that would be.

| Dear Sir Nicholas, alas Marie and I are to be forever seperated by politics, religion, uprisings and - more particularly - meddlesome men who wish to use our crowns for their own ends. Left to our own devices I think I cudst somewhat ignore her sharp Tudor tongue and hope to educate her to use her sharp Tudor mind in it's place. She is stubborn as a Tudor too, and wilt neither heed my warnings nor accept my advice.
Alas, fate wilt not allow for such things no matter how I wish of them, and when it comes down to it tis literally a matter of life and death. I cannot trust her not to have my head the instant my back is turned and so I must remove hers. I wudst delay this horror as long as I can, but with the safety of my realm, the livs of my non-Catholic subjects and my own life in the balance tis folly to wait too long.
If mine ministers can bring proof to me of her intent to have me murdered for nothing other than holding the crown and the reformist religion in my heart I shall have no choice but to sign her death warrant.
It troubles my heart and soul deeply and I wisheth that circumstances were so very different.

| And Marie, you came to my country for sanctuary from your own mistakes and I gave it.
You were kept secure at my bidding for the safety of us both. Mine Catholic subjects wudst use you to have me killed and mine loyal subjects of the Church of England wudst run you through on sight. I wished for neither to happen, and troubled myself day and night for a solution to this.
Alas your insistance on being against me meant there was no hope of us both keeping our heads, and the moment you plotted against me in your own writing, you signed your own death warrant.
As for your son, he was raised by your Scottish Lords and your abandonment of him as a small child in an unstable nation in the hands of those who killed both your husband and your Italian friend vexes me greatly!
...however, your Scottish Lords seem to at least be bringing him up wise and strong, and he hath a good head for politics and religion. I wudst easily trust him with the safety of mine own realm.

| That is sad indeed My Lady *frowns*
You have long been a true friend to me Young Bess, and forever will you remain dear to my heart. And my loyalty you will always have. I would defend you with my life if called to do so.

| Sir Nicholas, thou art wise, good and true. It gladdens my heart and eases my soul to have you here at court. I feel I could indeed trust you with my very life, and therefore let me say that you have the protection of the crown, always.
Tis also rare for me to have someone to talk to with whom I can speak of mine mother Anne. Alas, father's men have lied well of her character and I fear she may go down in the hostory books as all manner of things I know she was not. I have to hide my love of her daily though I keep her image close to me at all times and think of how she wudst guide me through my troubles.
But enough of all this, let us drink, dance and be merry while we can!
Thou dost also still owe me that lesson on eyeliner, though I fear we hath both had too much wine for any lessons to be productive til the morrow!

| You may always speak with me on any subject in perfect trust and thank you My Lady for your protection if I shall ever have need of it or not.
And yes let us turn our thoughts and hearts to more joyous passtimes!
Perhaps we must wait until the morrow for lessons on eyeliner but perhaps before this night has come to end you would favor me with a dance?
My present partner has brought much joy to the art for me.
